Battle of Cap-Français (in 1757), 1781

"The Action near Cape Francois on the 21st of Oct.r 1757 between his Majesty's Ships the Augusta Dreadnought & Edinburgh, under the Command of Capt.n Forrest, and seven French Men of War, when the latter were deafeated and oblig'd to sheer off in a shattered condition" engraved after a picture by Francis Chesham, published in Russel's New and Authentic History of England ..., 1781. Copper engraved print, slight age browning and soiling. Size 27.5 x 17.5 cms including title, plus margins with full plate mark. Ref H2710
