"A View of the Ruins of Palmyra alias Tadmor, taken on the southern side" engraved by J Basire. Large copper engraving after Cornelis de Bruyn, published about 1747 in Universal History from Earliest Account of Time. Copper engraved print. Several vertical folds and one horizontal, as published, close trimmed to part of the right side. Also entire top right corner separated and repaired many years ago, plus one tear of about 5cms to the lower part of one fold (no loss). Size 69 x 27 cms, plus margins. Ref G4905
