China, Mouth of the River Chincheo, by Commelin, (Bay of Amoy), 1646

"Mont van der Rivier Chincheo in China" anonymous engraver after Commelin. Map of the Bay of Amoy in Fujien Province, including what is now Xiamen. The earliest printed chart to depict any Western surveyed part of the coast of China - Zeyger van Rechteren on his voyage in 1632. Copper engraved antique map. Slight age browning, very small hole upper centre on neatline and chipped margins, otherwise good condition. Very scarce. Size 20 x 16 cms, plus margins. Ref H7721
