Essex, Bartlow Hills near Ashdon, 1779

"Bartlow Hills near Ashdon in Essex, raised over the Bodies of those slain in a battle between Edmund Ironside & Canute the Great" (actually a Roman tumuli cemetery, now in Cambridgeshire) anonymous engraver, published in The Modern Universal British Traveller, about 1779. Copper engraved print, good condition with full plate mark. Size 30.5 x 19 cms to plate mark, plus margins. Ref I0553
