London, Fountain North's in Hampstead, 1800

"Fountain North's, Hampstead" drawn and engraved by J.P.Malcolm, published in Malcolm's Views, about 1800. This building was commonly known as 'The Grove', and was occupied at this time by Fountain North, a former lieutenant in the navy. He altered the roof to resemble the quarter-deck of a man-of-war, from which he occasionally fired a cannon. Copper engraved antique print with recent hand tinting, good condition with full plate mark. Size 19.5 x 14.5 cms including title, plus margins. Ref F7896
