London, Brothel of Susanna Wells at Enfield Wash & portraits, 1754

"A Plan of the house of Susanna Wells at Enfield Wash" with portraits of "Elizabeth Canning. Mary Squires the Gypsy" Pair of copper engraved prints relating to the Old Bailey trial of Susanna Wells, along with Mary Squires, regarding the forced prositution of Elizabeth Canning, an 18-year old London maidservant, at the brothel run by Susanna Wells, also known as 'Mother Wells' in Enfield. Published in The London Magazine, 1754. Both trimmed to image edge and set into scrapbook pages, probably in Victorian times. Size 18.5 x 11 cms each, plus new margins. Ref G799
