This house is by tradition called King John's Gate ... reputed to be the oldest house in Stepney ..." copper plate etching originally published by N.Smith for the Society of Antiquaries in 1791, this example being bound into Antiquities of London and it's Environs ..., about 1801. Good condition, with full plate mark. Size 19 x 16 cms including title and description, plus good margins. Ref G1679
