"COMITATUS ROTLANDIAE Tabula Nova & Aucta" (Rutland) by Robert Morden, published in Camden's Britannia, 1695. originally published in Wright's History of Rutland in 1684. Copper engraved antique map with recent hand colour. One (flattened) fold as published. Closed tear in upper margin, outside plate mark, otherwise good condition with full plate mark. Size 37 x 29.5 cms plus margins. Ref I0667

The vignettes show Burley House, Normanton Park and Empingham. Good condition (these maps were very often tightly trimmed by the publishers). Size 19.5 x 25.5 cms plus margins. Ref H8373

Rutland map, 1786. "Rutlandshire" published by Francis Grose in his Antiquities of England and Wales, 1786. Originally drawn, engraved and published by John Seller around 1695, this re-issue by Grose has Seller's name removed. Printed on the top half of a page, the rest of which (and the reverse) carries a historical description of the county in letterpress. Copper engraved map with original hand colour. Good condition with plate mark and wide margins. Map size 15 x 12 cms plus text and wide margins. Ref F8371
