First Steeple Chase on Record - Ipswitch Watering Place, aquatint, 1865

"The First Steeple-Chace on Record. Ipswitch, the Watering-place behind the Barracks. Preparing to start. All sorts of Odds. The Grey for choice" etched by J.Harris after a picture by Henry Alken, aquatint with full original hand colour, published in 1865 by Ben Brookes. Slight age browning, remains of old mount tape just around the very edge of the thick paper. Size 37 x 33 cms including titles, plus margins. Ref F3727
