"Brazil" classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes show St.Catharina, Boats on the Rio Negro, Monte Verde, Cape St.Antonio at Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. Good condition. Size 24.5 x 35.5 cms including decorative border, plus good margins. Ref G1955
