Prussia, Tallis/Rapkin map, 1853.

"Prussia" classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes include French Church in Berlin, Berlin view, Brandenburg Gate, Royal Palace and Frederick the Great. Upper margin close trimmed to top of decoration above 'Prussia', otherwise good condition. Size 33 x 26.5 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref G1966
