"South America" classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes include Gold Washing in Brazil, Brazilian Rope Bridge, Rio Janeiro, Valparaiso, Natives of Chili and Condor and Llamas of Peru. Good condition. Size 24.5 x 36 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref G2004
