"Mexico, California and Texas" classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. Extra yellow colour added to the 'Gold Districts' of the Californian Gold Rush. The decorative vignettes include Ruins at Uxmal in Mexico, Gold Washing and Mexican Peasants. Good condition. Size 33 x 25.5 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref G2010
