"New South Wales" classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes include Sydney Cove, Pandanus on the Murray, Xanthorrhaea and Seal of the Colony. Also marked in yellow are the 'gold diggings'. Good condition. Size 25 x 34.5 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref G2014
