"Chili and La Plata" (Chile & Argentina) classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes include Rattlesnake, the Grand Square Beunos Aires, Water Seller of Beunos Aires, The Gobernador and Travellers Post. Extremely slight foxing, otherwise very good condition. Size 24.5 x 34.5 cms including decorative border, plus margins. Ref G2024
