World as known to Ancients, 1825.

" Carte Generale du Monde Connu des Anciens " (World as known in ancient times) by A.H.Brue, published in the Atlas Universel, about 1826 (map dated 1822.) Detailed copper engraved map with original hand colouring. Centrefold as published. Plate mark and wide margins. Some soiling, and 4 flower prints pasted onto the verso probably in Victorian times, these have not affected the paper but cause very slight cockling of the map. Size of engraved area 50 x 36 cms.
