Mediterranean, Map of the Travels of the Apostles etc. 1759. "An Accurate Map of the Travels of the Apostles with St. Paul's Voyage to Rome" anonymous engraver, copper engraved map with recent hand colouring. Good condition with margins of about 1 cm or more. Size 35.5 x 21 cms. Ref F1151
'Geography', (with world map), Richard Blome, 1686. "Geography" by Richard Blome, published in The Gentleman's Recreation, about 1686. This print shows the concepts of geography with divisions of the world by continent, by seas, mountains, rivers etc. with a small double hemisphere world map a centre, with California shown as an island. This is surrounded by an oval band with small scenes showing how the Earth is split into ever smaller divisions from Realms down to Inches and Barley-Corns. A globe is shown lower righ, a mapmaker lower left, upper left is a dedication to George Berkeley (dated 1678), with his coat of arms upper right. Copper engraving with recent hand colouring. Close cropped all around with old closed tear of 5 cms into lower centre. Size 24 x 38.5 cms plus margins. Ref F1150
Monmouthshire, Chepstow Castle, 1790. "Chepstow Castle" anonymous aquatint with original hand colouring. Slight soiling and age browning, trimmed within plate mark but still has good margins of about 2 cms. Size 32 x 25 cms including title, plus margins. Ref F1149

Greece, Plan of a Grecian House after Vitruvius, 1793. "Plan of a Grecian House after Vitruvius" engraved by T.Cook and published in The Travels of Anacharsis the Younger, 1793. Copper engraved plan with centrefold as published. Size 16.5 x 21 cms including title, plus margins with full plate mark. Ref F1147
Sussex, Hastings plan, 1824. "Plan of the Town and Port of Hastings" anonymous engraver, published in The History and Antiquities of ... Hastings, 1824. Copper engraved map, two (flattened) folds as published, very good condition with plate mark and good margins. Size 28.5 x 19.5 cms, plus margins. Ref F1146
Greece, Plan of the Battle of Plataea, 1793. "Essay on the Battle of Plataea" engraved by T.Cook and published in The Travels of Anacharsis the Younger, 1793 (dated 1784). This was the last battle of the Persian Wars in southern Greece, taking place in 479 BC. Copper engraved map with centrefold as published, slight browning near the fold. Size 34.5 x 22 cms including title, plus margins with full plate mark. Ref F1145
Gloucestershire, Environs of Cheltenham, 1815. "Environs of Cheltenham" engraved and puiblished by John Cary in Cary's New Itinerary, about 1815. This map ran to many editions, each slightly updated, this is the 7th edition without the new Shurdington Road built about 1820, but with the 'New road to Evesham' and 'New road to Bath'. It does show the 'Rail Road' between Gloucester Docks and Cheltenham, one of the earliest plateways in the world, using horse drawn goods wagons. Copper engraved map with a small amount of original hand colouring. Two folds as published and slight age browning. Size 22 x 17 cms plus margins. Ref F1144
