"Resources of Kansas, its development and future" with "Description of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe R.R. Co.s Lands in South Central & South West Kansas". Large folding map of the United States highlighting the Railroads, inset map of Kansas showing the Land Grant of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Co. The reverse gives much information on the land grants available and about the state in general. Condition - worn, with much creasing and some splits along the folds, but it is complete (see photo.) Scarce. Size 11 x 21 cms folded, and 95 x 63 cms opened. Ref H5723

USA, Civil War interest, series of humorous illustrations by Dryden, 1864.
"War in the midst of America : from a new point of view" (or "Impartial account of the Civil War in America") by Charles Dryden. Small book format, published by R.Ackermann & Co, Holborn, 1864. Contains 20 folding humorous plates, each with four illustrations. Originally all joined making one long fold-out strip of about 1120 cms. Original red cloth binding with printed label to front and inside back cover. Condition - worn, with loss of some of the front label, cartoon strip inside has separated into several sections, but is complete with all 20 'pages'. Very scarce, please email me for more photos or details. Ref H5722

Some foxing in a few margins (outside plate mark), otherwise good condition and with plate marks. Size about 12 x 18 cms each, plus good margins. Ref H5721
