"Ceylon" (Sri Lanka) classic decorative Tallis/Rapkin map published in Tallis's The Illustrated Atlas ..., about 1853. Steel engraved map with original outline hand colour, the more desirable version without a centrefold and with good margins. The decorative vignettes include Lake of Kandy, Adams Peak, Ruins of A Dagoba, Temple of Buddha at Kalany and Colombo. Good condition. Size 23.5 x 33.5 cms including decorative border, plus margins.
