World on Mercator's Projection, 1843. "Chart of the World on mercator's Projection" by A.K.Johnston, published in the national Atlas, about 1843. Large lithographic antique map, with original outline hand colouring. Very slight browning down the centrefold, otherwise good condition. Size 60 x 49 cms plus good margins. (Please note this is a digital camera image - there is some tonal variation due to uneven lighting.) Ref F186
Northern Hemisphere, 1851. "Northern Hemisphere" published by Goerge Philip & Son, 1851. Large lithographic map centered on the North Pole including North America, Asia and North Africa. Original hand colouring. Centrefold as published, slight age browning and closed split to the fold 4 cms in from the right side (no loss.) Size 45 x 55 cms including title, plus margins. Empire of Alexander the Great, 1825. "Carte de L'Empire D'Alexandre" by A.H.Brue, published in the Atlas Universel, about 1826 (map dated 1822.) Detailed copper engraved map with original hand colouring. Centrefold as published. Plate mark, small impressed publisher's stamp and good margins. Size of engraved area 51 x 36.5 cms. Some soiling and slight foxing, several early 20th century flower prints stuck on blank verso. Detailed copper engraved map with original hand colouring. Centrefold as published. Plate mark, small impressed publisher's stamp and good margins. Size of engraved area 51 x 36.5 cms. "Map Showing Routes of the River and Land Parties Engaged in Exploring the Grand Canyon of the Colorado ... 1871" drawn by Weyss, Thompson and Lang after P.W.Hamel and L.Nell, issued Feb 4th 1878 under the direction of Brig. Gen. A.A.Humphreys. Tinter lithographic map. Several folds as published, slight foxing and closed tear of about 5 cms into left side (no loss.) Size 41 x 41 cms plus good margins. Ref F182
