British Isles & North Sea, 1879. "Die Britischen Inseln und das Umliegende Meer" published in Adolf Stieler's Hand Atlas Uber Alle Theile Der Erde ..., 1879. Extremely detailed steel engraved map with original hand colour, centrefold as published. Inset plans of London and Crystal Palace, also small inset map of Helgoland and view of Rockall. Good condition with good margins. Size 40.5 x 35 cms, plus margins. (NOTE - the coloured banding visible in the sea area is caused by interference in the scanning process and does not exist on the map.) Ref E4338

Several (flattened) folds, as published. Close trimmed and re-edged to upper right margin (no loss), otherwise very good condition. Size 22.5 x 34 cms including text below map, plus margins.
