"Chart of the Baltic Compiled from British & Continental Admiralty Charts" tinted lithographic map by Schenck & McFarlane, published by A & C Black in relation to the fleet sent to the Baltic during the Crimea War. Was bound into a volume of Black's General Atlas, 1856. Inset details showing Cronstadt, St.Petersburg, Sveaborg, Riga etc. Slight foxing and creasing down the centrefold. Copper engraved map with a small amount of original hand colouring. Shows the pre-Roman tribal areas and Roman Britain. Good condition on thick paper with a good plate mark and wide margins. Detailed copper engraved map with a small amount of original hand colouring. Includes the cities of Langres and Neufchatel. Good condition on thick paper with a good plate mark and wide margins.
